Ok, Alexander the Great has nothing to do with the West Highland Way, but he's just fantastic anyway. (These are quite definitely the views of Killer. Fraggle is not quite so besotted.)
This was the man who modelled himself on the hero Achilles, who brought Greek culture to the world, profoundly and irrevocably changing the face of future civilisation, who named a city after his favourite horse, and who died at the age of 32 ... having taken over most of the known world! So forgive me if I'm a little in love with the guy.
